Southern Arkansas University Science Building Magnolia, AR

The Science Building at Southern Arkansas University is a state of the art science center which hosts classrooms and laboratories. The site for this building was designed to strengthen the connection between this new building and the existing campus. In front of the building, an elliptical plaza was created. Extending from this plaza are spokes of sidewalks which extend across a large expanse of lawn to the existing campus. The front of the building was enhanced with structured planting and lawn while the rear of the building was restored with pasture grasses in order to blend it in with the existing condition. The result is a clean, simple, low maintenance site with bold forms at the entrance.
